Myer Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
MBTI is the most widely-recognised tool worldwide for identifying valuable human personality differences. It is based on Dr. Carl Jung’s theory of psychological type and is formatted in a self-report questionnaire. MBTI emphasises that no personality type is superior to any other type; thereby each type has its own strengths and challenges.
MBTI has a rigorous accreditation process and is scientifically proven to be both valid and reliable. It is commonly used in, but not limited to:
- Individual & team development
- Recruitment & selection
- Career development
- Management & leadership training
- Problem solving/conflict resolution
- Organisational Change
- Stress management
Since 1993 the HRS Group has been facilitating MBTI team workshops within organisations at both the management and executive levels. MBTI is both self-affirming and seeks cooperation from others.
Case Example
The HRS Group delivered a successful series of development workshops for Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. The departments were Monash Sport and Student Administration.
The workshop objectives were to implement the MBTI tool to:
- enhance individual development
- understand personality differences and thus further develop as a team
These workshops were implemented to support a broader strategy of organisational change at Monash University.
